SIDARTA MOUNTAINS ABOVE THE SOČA

This guidebook, dedicated to one of the wildest and perhaps most beautiful parts of the Julian Alps, is the work of Andrej Stritar, an expert on the area and author of the bestselling guidebooks 111 Hikes in the Slovenian Mountains and In the Mountains with Children.

The third, revised edition describes 60 selected destinations
in the Soča basin from Tolmin upstream. They range in difficulty from easier valley walks along the river and to waterfalls to very challenging hikes and off-trail routes.

Most of the hikes described are of moderate difficulty, but the book also covers several challenging off-trail routes and three ambitious multi-day traverses. Given the seriousness of the mountain environment, these require experienced and physically fit mountaineers.
