SCOTT’s commitment to developing exceptionally lightweight bikes is inseparable from its in-depth knowledge of carbon fibre technology. With the all-new Addict RC, the conventional approach to building carbon road bikes has been turned on its head. Inspired by the development of mountain bikes, the mould-making process was thoroughly re-evaluated in pursuit of new solutions for even better performance on the road. The result is an impressive 300-gram reduction in the weight of the frameset compared with the previous generation — without any compromise to race performance.

Our innovative manufacturing process (PP Mandrel) enables exceptionally precise shaping of internal surfaces and transition areas. Combined with tubes whose shapes are optimised for maximum strength, this approach eliminates the need for additional reinforcement and unnecessary material. The result is expertly engineered tube profiles and seamless surfaces that significantly reduce the overall frame weight without compromising strength or stiffness.

The geometry of the new Addict RC has been comprehensively redesigned and brought in line with our latest guidelines for this bike. The new design accommodates wider tyres and delivers more consistent, predictable handling across all frame sizes. Whether you’re a professional racer or chasing local records at the weekend, the new Addict RC impresses with greater agility and responsiveness, delivering an outstanding riding experience.

The combination of advanced mould-making technology and a newly designed seatpost clamping system allows for thinner seat tube walls and less material in this key part of the frame. Combined with the innovative Syncros SP-R101-CF seatpost, the thinner seat tube increases flex and contributes to greater comfort on longer rides. In addition, the all-new Addict RC offers generous tyre clearance for tyres up to 34 mm wide, providing even more comfort on the most demanding terrain.

The development of the new Addict RC also gave rise to an innovative Syncros cockpit. The aerodynamically shaped handlebar, with a slight flare in the drops, is optimally matched to modern brake/shift levers, saving watts and improving control. Improved cable routing and a lighter clamping system further reduce weight, while a wide range of stem lengths and handlebar widths allows for a perfect fit for every rider.

The new Addict RC is designed for quick and easy adjustment. Standardised bolts and an integrated multi-tool make adjustments straightforward, with the T25 tool discreetly housed in the cockpit or the underside of the handlebar. It can be used to adjust the stem, handlebar, seatpost, saddle clamps and even bottle cages, making things easier for both riders and mechanics.
