The Salewa Brenta RDS Down Jacket Kid is a technical insulated jacket for children, filled with duck down and featuring TirolWool® Responsive inserts for winter activities and ski touring. Weighing just 220 g, it offers an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio while ensuring freedom of movement thanks to its ergonomic fit.

This is a technical insulated jacket for children. It is designed for ski touring, hiking and everyday winter adventures. The water-repellent treatment on the outer fabric protects against light snow and moisture, while the carefully considered insulation placement keeps the body’s core warm.

Key features and materials

• Duck down fill (550 cuin): A blend of 80% down and 20% feathers, certified to the RDS, provides high thermal insulation at a low weight.
• TirolWool® Responsive inserts: 100 g/m² insulation made from a polyester and wool blend is placed in areas more exposed to moisture, retaining its thermal properties even when wet.
• Water-repellent treatment (DWR): The outer nylon fabric (20D) is treated with a PFC-free finish that repels water and dirt.
• Ergonomic design: Specially shaped sleeves and shoulders allow unrestricted movement, while elasticated trims on the hood, sleeves and hem help keep cold air out.
• Salewa Committed and bluesign®: The taffeta lining (47 g/m²) meets the strict bluesign® environmental standards, and the product as a whole follows Salewa’s sustainability commitments.

Fit

The jacket has a standard (Regular) fit, allowing it to be worn comfortably over base and mid-layers. The 53 cm back length provides good coverage over the lower back, while the high insulated collar and zip with protective storm flap provide additional protection from the cold.
