The Salewa Puez Highloft Polarlite 2 is a warm children’s hooded fleece jacket made from brushed Polarlite fleece, designed for hiking and trekking in cold weather. As the warmest children’s fleece in the range, it combines high thermal insulation with breathability, making it an ideal mid-layer for winter adventures in the mountains or everyday wear.

What conditions and activities is it suitable for?

It is a technical thermal mid-layer for active time outdoors. It is designed for children who need reliable protection from the cold while trekking, alpine hiking or ski touring. The combination of materials using body mapping keeps the jacket warm around key areas of the torso, while allowing moisture to be wicked away more quickly under the arms and at the sides to prevent overheating on ascents.

Key features and material

• Polarlite fleece (270 g/m²): The main material is made from 100% polyester and brushed on both sides to retain body heat effectively and feel exceptionally soft against the skin.
• Body-mapping construction: Lighter fleece panels (250 g/m²) at the sides and under the arms improve breathability and prevent sweat from building up during intense movement.
• Ergonomic hood: The collar integrated into the hood, with a zip that reaches the chin and elastic binding, offers extra protection from cold wind.
• Gusseted sleeves: The special underarm gusset allows complete freedom of movement when climbing or walking with trekking poles.
• Comfort and fit: Flatlock seams prevent chafing under a backpack, while elasticated cuffs and hem keep the jacket securely in place.

Cut and fit

The jacket has a classic Regular Fit that allows comfortable wear over a base layer and under a waterproof outer jacket. With a back length of 49 cm and a weight of 300 g, it provides optimal coverage of the lower back without adding unnecessary weight or bulk.

For care, machine washing on a cold synthetics cycle is recommended. Do not bleach, tumble dry, iron or dry clean, as this could damage the fibre structure.
