The SCOTT Foil RC road bike represents a breakthrough for road bikes as a whole. Using SCOTT’s own F01 technology, every tube and junction is designed for optimal aerodynamic efficiency. Computer simulations and wind tunnel testing confirm that this is the fastest SCOTT road bike ever.
One of the most advanced features of the new Foil RC is the patented Syncros Duncan SL Aero CFT seatpost. It is designed to absorb vibrations on uneven surfaces while keeping the rider in an optimal position and allowing them to transfer maximum power to the pedals – even on cobbles or light gravel. The two-layer design, with its load-bearing carbon section, flexes resiliently under impact. An integrated rear light, the Syncros Campbell 20 Aero iL, is also available. It fits directly into the seatpost, maintains its aerodynamic shape and offers three operating modes with an output of 20 Lm.
All Foil RC models feature dropped seatstays, which enhance comfort while also reducing aerodynamic drag. The stays angle forwards by 10°, directing airflow towards the rotating spokes for further aerodynamic benefits. This design also allows the disc brake callipers to be hidden, reducing drag and creating a clean, elegant look.
The Foil RC features an oversized head tube, which allows fully internal cable routing for both mechanical and electronic shifting systems. It also acts as an aerodynamic airflow deflector, splitting the airflow and reducing drag while riding.
SCOTT’s engineers tested more than 300 different designs to find the best carbon lay-up. The result is 30% fewer carbon parts and joints compared with the previous Foil model. By carefully optimising small details such as the seatstays and seat clamp, they achieved a significant weight reduction without sacrificing stiffness.
