The Salewa Ortles Hybrid TirolWool Air is a men’s technical insulated jacket with a hybrid construction and TirolWool Responsive insulation, designed for ski touring and mountaineering. It is designed to regulate body temperature optimally and retain warmth even when the material is wet.

The hybrid design with body-mapping technology keeps key areas of the body warm while wicking away excess moisture on steep climbs and helping to prevent overheating.

• TirolWool® Responsive insulation: The 60 g/m² fill (a blend of 60% polyester and 40% virgin wool) retains core warmth in wet conditions and reflects body heat back.
• Durastretch panels: Breathable inserts improve natural thermoregulation and freedom of movement during activity.
• Environmental standards: The nylon outer material and lining (35 g/m² and 38 g/m²) are bluesign certified and have a water-repellent finish (DWR) without harmful PFAS chemicals.
• Helmet-compatible hood: The close-fitting hood provides additional insulation and fits comfortably under a climbing or ski helmet.
• Integrated pack-it pocket: The jacket can be quickly and easily packed into its own pocket to save space in your rucksack.

Cut and fit

The jacket has an athletic fit that sits close to the body and allows easy layering under a waterproof outer shell (hardshell). The back length is 72 cm, providing good coverage of the lower back when bending and climbing. Weighing 410 grams, it is exceptionally lightweight and does not restrict movement during technically demanding manoeuvres.
