The MAMMUT Taiss ML Hooded Jacket is a men’s technical mid-layer made from recycled polyester and elastane, designed for demanding mountaineering and climbing. It offers an optimal warmth-to-weight ratio and helps prevent the body from cooling down quickly after reaching the summit.
This jacket sits at the top end of the technical mid-layer range for alpine activities. It is designed for experienced hikers, ski tourers and mountaineers who need reliable thermal insulation while moving intensely in colder conditions. Its design makes it suitable for year-round use, either as a standalone outer layer during transitional seasons or as an insulating layer under a waterproof jacket in winter.
On technical climbs, the 4-way stretch fabric and functional underarm inserts allow complete freedom of movement when reaching for distant holds on the rock.
On full-day outings, the flat seams and low weight of 370 g ensure comfort under a heavy backpack, while the integrated thumb loops keep the sleeves in place and prevent cold from reaching the wrists.
In windy conditions and on exposed ridges, the adjustable hood with an elasticated edge fits snugly around the head, reducing heat loss and allowing a helmet to be worn securely over it.
The Athletic Fit is anatomically shaped and fits close to the body. This design optimises moisture wicking away from the skin and makes it easy to layer under a waterproof outer jacket without excess fabric bunching up.
Machine washing on a normal cycle at temperatures up to 30 °C is recommended. Close all zips before washing. Do not bleach, dry clean, iron or tumble dry.
The jacket weighs 370 g. The main fabric and inner inserts are made from a blend of 92% recycled polyester and 8% elastane (Spandex), providing high elasticity and durability.
