Karpos Schiara Advance Pants are technical winter trousers made from three-layer ripstop nylon and stretch fabrics for ski touring and mountaineering in extreme weather conditions. Developed in collaboration with mountain guides and rescuers, they offer maximum reliability and protection from snow, wind and cold.

These premium technical winter trousers are designed for demanding alpinists and ski tourers. With a 30,000 mm hydrostatic head and high breathability, they provide complete protection in deep snow and storms while preventing overheating during intense ascents. They are intended for professionals and advanced recreational users who spend long days in the high mountains.

Key features and fabric

• Three-layer ripstop nylon: Strategically positioned at the knees and upper back (138 g), it provides a 30,000 mm hydrostatic head and breathability of 25,000 g/m²/24h.
• Cordura® reinforcements: Exceptionally robust fabric on the lower legs protects against cuts from crampons and ski edges.
• PFAS-free DWR treatment: Durable water-repellent protection for the outer layer that is kinder to the environment and contains no intentionally added harmful chemicals.
• Ventilation system: Side zips with double sliders at the hips allow you to regulate your temperature quickly during strenuous ascents.
• Integrated gaiters and adjustability: Integrated gaiters keep snow out, while the waistband is compatible with Karpos Alpine Suspenders.

Performance in use

During ski touring ascents, the side zips with double sliders and breathability of 25,000 g/m²/24h allow excess heat to escape efficiently, while the stretch fabric does not restrict movement.

In extreme weather conditions, the three-layer ripstop nylon with a 30,000 mm hydrostatic head and warmer lining on the thighs keep you dry and warm, even in strong winds and snowfall.

On technically demanding sections with crampons, robust Cordura® reinforcements on the lower legs prevent mechanical damage and extend the garment’s lifespan.

Cut and fit

The trousers have a Regular Fit cut, allowing comfortable wear over base layers. The waistband is adjustable with side straps and compatible with Karpos Alpine Suspenders for a secure fit.
