The Salewa Puez Highloft Polarlite 2 is a children’s fleece jacket made from warm fleece with a body-mapping construction, designed for hiking and ski touring in cold weather. The warmest children’s fleece in the range, it provides exceptional comfort and protection from the cold while maintaining breathability during activity.

What conditions and activities is it designed for?

It is a technical mid layer for winter and transitional conditions. It is designed for children who need reliable thermal insulation for hiking, trekking or ski touring. Thanks to its thoughtful placement of different materials, it works well as a standalone garment in dry weather or as an insulating layer beneath a waterproof jacket in snow and rain.

Key features and fabric

• Polarlite fabric (270 g/m²): The main body is made from warm, double-brushed polyester that effectively traps body heat.
• Body-mapping construction: Lighter fleece inserts at the sides and under the arms improve moisture wicking and help prevent overheating.
• Fitted hood: An integrated collar that reaches the chin and an elasticated hood trim provide extra protection from cold winds.
• Ergonomic design: Specially shaped sleeves with gussets and flat seams allow unrestricted movement without uncomfortable chafing.
• Practical details: The jacket has two external zipped pockets for securely storing small items, plus elasticated cuffs.

In use

For hiking on cold days, the dense Polarlite fleece helps keep children comfortably warm, even while resting on exposed summits.

On ski tours or more demanding climbs, the lighter side inserts allow effective ventilation, reducing perspiration under the arms and along the sides of the torso.

As part of a layering system, the jacket works well beneath a winter or rain jacket thanks to its flat seams and smooth fit, without restricting freedom of movement.

Cut and fit

The classic Regular Fit allows comfortable wear over a base layer. The back length in the reference size is 49 cm, providing good coverage of the lower back, even when bending over.
