Downhill bikes are full-suspension bikes with long-travel shocks, designed for riding downhill on particularly steep, technical trails. Unlike other full-suspension bikes, durability and stability are the most important factors. Because of their geometry and greater weight, downhill bikes are not suitable for climbing, so downhill riders usually get up the hill using chairlifts or motor vehicles.
