Dirt jump bikes are a cross between freeride and BMX bikes. They are sometimes also known as urban or street mountain bikes. They usually have front suspension. Dirt bikes are intended for freestylers who like to spend most of their time in the air while performing crazy tricks. BMX is short for bicycle motocross or bike motocross. BMX bikes are divided into freestyle models, which mostly have steel frames, and race BMX bikes, which can also be found with aluminium
The main difference between dirt and BMX bikes is the wheel size. Wheels on DJ and slopestyle bikes are mostly 26-inch (rarely 24 or 27,5). BMX bikes mainly have 20-inch wheels. 18- and 24-inch wheels are also available.
